Role of the Trustees

Newington Nursery is run and overseen by a board of Trustees.  At the moment this is made up of parents, taking on the roles of Chair, Vice chair, Secretary and Treasurer, however we do welcome other members of the community who would be interested in becoming a trustee.  We would love to hear from you if you would be interested in taking up a board position or finding out more about how we operate.

Other Ways Parents Can Get Involved

The nursery encourages parents to be actively involved in the nursery and their child’s first independent experiences.  We love to have our parents volunteer with us whether that be on a regular basis or as a one off visit to share a skill or support staff members.  Parents are asked to complete a PVG if volunteering on a regular basis in the nursery.  Parents find this a rewarding experience, seeing their children grow and develop, making life long friends in the community. Free at point of access, Parents are encouraged to help fundraise and support the nursery in applying for grants and organising fundraising activities. The nursery is run by a Parent Board which you can find out more about in our Role of the Trustee section.
